Saw an Ontario plated Fiat 500 in the parking lot of the mall, and had to take some shots, he must have hit every bug fro m Toronto to here, so the car looked terrible, except from this low angle :(

Super MC Takumar 50/1.4: zero depth of field!

Shooting the butterflies was a lot of fun, but I still got to goof around with some semi abstract/artsy stuff

this is how thin the depth of field is at f1.4 and at 0.45 feet!

According to an online calculator its 0.02 mm ( it actually said 0 , but it also gave me the exact number as it rounded down)

summicron 50/2 : Where is Alice?

The cloud shots from the other night were cool, but this guy was sitting on the side of the road with another rabbit behind, but my 50mm didnt have the reach to get the other, so I concentrated on this chap ( or gal!)

Elmarit 135/2.8 : Working with B+W

Im trying to work with Black and White using Lightroom, I think it might be easier to get a copy of silverefexpro instead! :) I liked the tones of this shot, but not necessarily the colours, hence the black and white test

once we got home I took a few shots of the cherries on our new cherry tree, and the sun shone into the lens , hard to catch this with a rangefinder, but it was nice to capture it

Elmarit 135/2.8 : Godrays

Lately I see a lot of shots with backlighting thats a stylized flare, so I thought I'd try some,, leica-style with a 135/2.8, they came out a LOT better than I expected, especially when the sun is about 1 minute from dipping below the horizon, I'm very happy with the way they turned out

Helios 40 85/1.5: Butterfly landing pad

This is my daughter feeding some butterflies at a local indoor butterfly *zoo* , the Helios 40 is wide open and I am at its minimum focus distance ( I think its 0.55 metres)

Butthanks to the crop factor the 85mm becomes a 128mm, so I can get in VERY close, one thing the Leica doesnt do so hot ;(

The reason I like this shot is the clarity of the black butterfly contrasts withthe blurriness of the other one landing, and that distance is perhaps an inch or 2 tops, talk about depth of field!

ISO 200  f1.5 1/200th

summicron 50/2 : R8 radness

I received my 2 free UV/IR filters from leica and was wary about using them, as it said the lenses had to be 6-bit encoded. SO this week a new firmware came out, so I installed it, used a permanent marker to 6-bit code my lens and installed the UV/IR filter, here are the first batch of shots

An Audi R8 V10 Quattro! I did 1 shot colour and another B+W to see how they looked , great!

This one seemed to *pop* more than  the othercar shots I have taken, I am assuming the filter makes a big difference ??

Leitz Canada Elmarit 135/2.8 : Into the Blue

as i was taking cloud shots ( boring I know) some aircraft flew over, this one was aiming for the gap in the clouds, and the viewfinder made picking the right moment easy

This was an Air Canada Jazz Regional Jet i think.
